How old are the participants usually on an Adventure Travel?
Most of them are about 19-24 years of age, but everyone between 18 and 30 years can participate. If you are older or younger you can apply to see if you will fit in a group.
How many people are in the groups?
It depends on the group. Learn more about the group sizes.
Are the participants in the groups international?
On almost all Adventure Travels we have international participants. Adventure Heart has sales offices in most parts of the world. We intend to mix the groups as well as possible, however, first come, first served.
Do I have to organize my own flight ticket?
Please contact your agent to find out if they will help you book a flight. If not, you are responsible for booking your own flight ticket. We will gladly help you with transfer to and from the airport; you just have to send us your flight information.
Do the guides at the destinations speak English?
Yes, always.
Do you have to do voluntary work in the program?
On nearly all trips you can choose to opt out the voluntary work if you do not feel like it. See more under Countries.
Can I travel on my own after the program?
Yes, it is very common that you decide to extend your trip. We will gladly help you with any part of your onward journey.
What do I need to bring on my trip?

What about visa?
Please contact the embassy of the destination in your country for information, rules and prices.
Which vaccinations do I need?
Please ask your doctor which vaccinations you need for your destination. Bring your itinerary for exact details.
How about security in the country?
Adventure Heart makes sure of your safety as best as possible. Please check with the ministry of foreign affairs in your country for information on political issues on your destination. Ask Adventure Heart for advice if you have any doubts of the security of your destination. In the event that a country is not safe to stay in, you will be informed. The trip will either change or cancelled, if so you will be offered a similar program in another country.
When should I pay?
The trip must be paid no later than 8 weeks before departure.
