The Concept
Adventure Heart created the concept 'Adventure, touring & volunteering' more than 15 years ago. The concept stems from our vision that all young people should have the journey of their life in their gap year. This can only be done with an organization behind you, because we guarantee you the most authentic experience filled with challenges, new friendships, culture shocks and an opportunity to give something back. Above all, an adventure travel is the ultimate form of self-development, and you will daily be put to new trials of physical, human and cultural character.
We have traveled to every corner of the world to create the best programs. This means that we can offer a unique look behind the facade to authentic, border-crossing and wonderful experiences. Adventure Heart focuses on traveling far away from tourist routes - for example Indians in the Amazon, Masais at the savannah, host families in villages and communities that rarely are visited by tourists. This can only be done because we as an organization have far-reaching contacts. We have local guides worldwide, as this ensures the best possible communication between the group and the local population and allows for different and in-depth experiences in these countries.
We focus on voluntary work that makes sense. At Adventure Heart we believe that one is far more capable of teaching at a local school when you have had a thorough introduction to the country and the people opposed to starting the voluntary work immediately upon arrival. Therefore you are taught the local language, whether it is Swahili, Spanish or Hindu and recieve a thorough briefing on the country's norms, history and culture. With these qualifications, you can give far more to the locals. We stick to our projects, and where it is possible ensure that they go through a fixed sequence, so that the project does not fall to the ground when the volunteers go home. You will have the adventure of a life time along with other young people from all over the world, as we aim for international groups and offer tours throughout the world. The groups are put together on a first-served basis and focuses on group activities that bring the group together and create strong friendships. Therefore, we gather the group before departure, provide adventure activities in the beginning of the trip to create a strong group-bond and allow time for fun and games during the trips.
We provide the best service based on more than 25 years experience in travels for young people. We advise you on all the practical things from the first time you hear about us, until you have landed safely back home. We are happy to book your flight no matter how comprehensive you want it and draw an insurance policy for you, covering all activities along the way. We handle your security in cooperation with our local partners and are always here to help in case of problems along the way. We are also available for your parents, should they have questions about your journey before, during or after.
